Science behind hiccups when you are drunk

Getting hiccups after drinking alcohol. But of course you get hiccups after drinking anything quickly. The science behind the hiccups after you drunk alcohol is, alcohol produces acid reflux in the esophagus, which in turn triggers the tenth nerve which is vagus with in esophagus , producing hiccups . Not only alcohol , carbonated drinks also produces hiccups.

If the hiccups last longer for more than a day, then its time to check up with your doctor.
